Internship-related FAQs

As an intern, tasks could vary depending on what the organisation is prioritising and the area of work you hold interest in. That being said, interns who are not yet pursuing a postgraduate degree would most likely be involved in content writing, content creation, and research.

The working conditions are very flexible and are made to suit each intern in their own way. Every intern will communicate directly with the intern supervisor through weekly meetings. When it comes to taking breaks and work load, the organisation sees to it that no one is overworked and pressurised, however it is understood that interns keep the organisers posted about their activities.

Interns will gain first hand experience from professionals working in the field and see positive development in their own knowledge and skills. The internship is also extremely flexible and accommodating to personal and professional hindrances. This creates an environment that facilitates a healthy relationship with work. Interns are also free to attend any workshops held by the organisation during their time as an intern.

The work timings are made to fit each intern. It works in such a way that the interns are monitored on a weekly basis, rather than on a daily basis. Every week, the interns get on a call where they provide weekly updates and then state the objectives for the coming week. This allows each intern to work according to their own timing, as long as they complete the tasks assigned each week. If they are unable to do so, this should be communicated with the supervisors.

Yes, every intern will receive concrete certification for their work at the AlternativeStory.

There is no maximum time period. The internship can last however long you want it to. If you need to take longer breaks, the organisation needs to be informed beforehand, and you can restart your work once you finish your break. If you are unable to continue with the internship due to other commitments, then that needs to be communicated as well.
